PLANET WL-3555 WIRELESS LAN PC CARD
WL-3555 is an IEEE 802.11b+ Wireless PCMCIA Adapter. It can operate in either Ad-Hoc mode (Point to Point/Point to Multipoint without Access Point) or Infrastructure mode (Point to Point/Point to Multipoint with Access Point). It operates in 2.4GHz unlicensed ISM band in the home or office environment.
The data throughput rate of WL-3555 supports 22, 11, 5.5, 2 and 1Mbps. Based on TI's Packet Binary Convolutional Coding (PBCC) technology (which is the candidate for the IEEE 802.11g standard), WL-3555 automatically adjusts to the fastest rate possible. It is also backward compatible and interoperable with IEEE 802.11b compliant wireless devices. With PCMCIA interface, WL-3555 can be easily installed and used on a laptop or notebook.
WL-3555 provides drivers for Windows 98, Me, 2000 and XP. It supports 64-bits, 128-bits, and 256-bits WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) Encryption for securing wireless network connection. WL-3552 has the benefits of full mobility and seamless roaming for mobile users to keep network connection across access points. Its range of coverage is up to 300 feet indoor and 1100 feet outdoors.
